Choose the Correct Record Path
Different agencies answer different questions. The home page covers a named-person release search and county record request. Community supervision belongs with Parole & Probation. Facility pages in the footer separate local jail, state, federal, and immigration custody.

Request an existing FCRJ booking sheet, release screen or log, movement history, release date and time, type, receiving agency, or identified booking photo. Kentucky's Open Records Act, KRS 61.870 through 61.884, requires a clear description. The county gives a written determination within five working days and may apply KRS 61.878 exemptions.

District 12 serves Franklin County. Use the office when KOOL shows community supervision but the public status is unclear. Staff may limit disclosure under corrections privacy rules.

Include the full name and date of birth or offender number. Request the movement, release, or final discharge record rather than sending a general status question. DOC states a five-business-day response rule under KRS 197.025.
Kentucky VINE Assistance
Kentucky VINE operators are available around the clock at 1-800-511-1670. TTY service is 1-866-847-1298. VINE provides custody alerts and status results for participating Kentucky sources, but a release alert should still be checked with FCRJ, KOOL, or the official movement record.
Federal sentenced prisoners use the BOP locator. Federal pretrial or transport custody may involve the U.S. Marshals Service, while immigration detention uses ICE ODLS. No single contact resolves all three systems.
